FAQ

  • What Should I Expect During My Tattoo Session?

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a friendly and relaxed environment in my fully licensed and insured home studio. We’ll start by discussing your tattoo design one final time, making any last-minute tweaks.

Once everything is perfect, I’ll set up and begin the tattoo process, ensuring you’re comfortable throughout.

Note: I have a small, friendly Cavapoo who loves to say hello to new visitors. If you’re allergic or fearful of dogs, please let me know in advance, and I’ll accommodate your needs. Don’t worry he won’t be anywhere near the Tattoo Studio Space!

  • Is Your Studio Licensed and Insured?

Yes, my studio is fully licensed and insured. The local authority carries out a detailed inspection to ensure it meets all hygiene and safety requirements. You can feel confident that your tattoo experience will take place in a safe, professional environment.

  • Will It Hurt?

Pain levels vary from person to person and depend on the tattoo’s location and size. Fine line tattoos are generally less painful than other styles, as they use a smaller needle.

Areas with more muscle or fat, like the upper arm, are usually less painful, while bony areas like the ribs, tops feet or ankles may feel more sensitive.

  • How Do I Choose My Tattoo Design?

Choosing a design is an exciting part of the process! Pinterest is an excellent resource for finding inspiration—search for designs you love, save reference images, and think about what resonates with you.

Please have your design finalized before your appointment so I can prepare everything, including the stencil, in advance. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact me for advice or book in for a free consultation.

  • Where Can I Put a Tattoo?

Tattoos can be placed almost anywhere on the body, but placement affects visibility, sensitivity, and longevity. For example:

Areas like the arms, shoulders, or thighs are less sensitive and heal well.

Hands, feet, or fingers are more prone to fading over time.
We’ll discuss the best placement options during the consultation to ensure your tattoo looks great and lasts.

  • How Do I Look After My New Tattoo?

Proper aftercare is essential for healing and maintaining the quality of your tattoo. Here’s what to do:

Leave the initial covering on for 2–4 hours.

Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and unscented soap.

Pat it dry and apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare cream.

Avoid soaking (baths, swimming) and direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.

Do not scratch or pick at the healing tattoo.

I’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions after your session.

  • What Should I Wear to My Tattoo Appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that makes it easy to access the tattoo area. For example:

For leg tattoos: Shorts or loose trousers.

For arm tattoos: Sleeveless or loose-fitting tops.

Dark clothing is ideal in case of ink transfer during the session.

  • Where Should I Park?

When you arrive, turn the first bend in the street. My studio is located on the right-hand side, but please park in the parking bays on the left-hand side after the last house. Any available space in this area is fine.

  • How Long Will My Tattoo Take?

The time required depends on the size and complexity of your design.

Small, simple designs can take around 1 hour.

More detailed or intricate tattoos may take 90 minutes or longer.
We’ll discuss this when booking to ensure you have the right session length.

  • Why Do I Need to Finalize My Design Before My Appointment?

To make your tattoo session as smooth as possible, please ensure you’ve chosen your design before attending and sent it to me at least 48 hours in advance.

This allows me to prepare everything, including the stencil and setup, so we can focus on creating your tattoo in the time allocation.

Pinterest is a fantastic resource for inspiration if you need help finding ideas or feel free to take a look at our inspriation or flash sheets.

  • What Should I Expect When I Arrive?

You’ll be welcomed into a clean and comfortable studio space. We’ll review your design and placement one final time, then get started. Expect a calm, friendly atmosphere with clear guidance throughout the process to ensure you feel at ease and a cuppa!

  • Can I Bring a Friend?

Due to the cozy nature of my home studio, space is limited. If you’d like to bring someone for support, please let me know in advance so I can try to accommodate.
